These pictures show Norella King, Miss Canada Globe Petite Winner! Congratulations!
I’ve known Norella for many years; entering a beauty pageant had never crossed her mind. She’s a self-proclaimed tom-boy with interests in being a real-life ninja and fearless warrior! Despite her initial reservations, she saw Miss Canada Globe as an opportunity to make a difference in the world. Putting aside her pride and an entire year for preparation, she slipped on a beautiful dress and walked the stage representing Alberta. This was an opportunity for her voice to heard in a new way.
She proudly stood up on that stage to bring awareness to the charity, Canadian Legacy Project. The CLP is an organization that develops programming and provides support to our Canadian Veterans by aiming to improve their everyday lives. Much to my surprise, many of our veterans live in poverty and do not have the basic necessities of shelter, food, clothing etc. This hits home for Norella, as she has spent a number of years serving in the military and has seen first hand, the effect war has on our Canadian veterans.
During her reign as the 2015 Miss Canada Globe Petite, she facilitated numerous fundraisers and advocated for the CLP at a number of events and speaking engagements. Well done Norella! I’m so proud of you.
